Are you curious about tango and what it could teach you about life and relationships? I’m thrilled to invite you to my first tango workshop in the Bay Area! It’s groundbreaking territory combining tango and personal growth. I was part of a weekly psicotango workshop in Buenos Aires at the Universidad de Tango and I am so excited to bring this perspective on tango and personal growth to the United States. Dance is a way that we can grow enormously when we consciously use our bodies and dance as a personal search.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: It takes two to tango
How tango can help you connect with yourself and others.
Sasha Cagen + Gabriela Condrea first met in Buenos Aires. We now team up to bring you this unique experience using tango as a tool for personal growth and developing connection. The workshop is appropriate for both total beginners and experienced dancers.
Tango is our passion and we want to share it with you. Local author Sasha Cagen (founder of the Quirkyalone movement) is coming together with Seattle author and tango teacher Gabriela Condrea (Tango is About the Connection) to offer a QuirkyConnection Tango Workshop that’s about tango and connection, to yourself and others.
Tango is all about the connection. It’s a bliss that happens when two people are so palpably connected in this simple yet complex dance of walking and hugging. You can’t dance tango by yourself, but to connect with your partner, you must connect with and embrace your quirky self and find your personal center of balance.
This workshop will give you a taste of tango if you are a beginner and give you a flavor for why tango is so compelling as a dance and a metaphor for life and relationships. For experienced tango dancers, this workshop is a chance to explore your personal search through tango and connect with others on tango’s deeper dimensions as they relate to the self and relationships. I wrote a post earlier this summer describing what tango can teach us about relationships and ourselves–for more details, check it out here.
