Because You’re Never Alone When You’re Quirkyalone

Quirkyalone Together Learning Community

From longing for the one to owning your wholeness, no matter what

New community begins in 2026 — Space is limited to those who want to share, contribute, and cocreate.

Would you prefer to be on your own than in a relationship just to be in one? You belong here.

Welcome to something historic (herstoric actually!)

Hi! I’m Sasha Cagen — author of Quirkyalone: A Manifesto for Uncompromising Romantics (HarperSF, 2004) and seasoned life coach since 2011.

I’m the person who coined the word “quirkyalone” back in 2000 and launched a movement about not settling for less than the kind of romantic relationship you really want.

Quirkyalone means: “A person who enjoys being single (but is not opposed to being in a relationship) and generally prefers to be alone rather than date purely for the sake of being in a couple.”

You can see me explaining “quirkyalone” to Anderson Cooper here back in 2004 when my book came out. He had questions—and you might too.

In essence, quirkyalone people prefer to be single rather than settle. As they say in Spanish, mejor sola que malacompañada.

For 20+ years, I’ve been helping thoughtful, sensitive, independent-minded people to carve life paths on their own terms, in workshops and in my 1:1 life coaching practice.

In 2026, I’ll be launching a new Quirkyalone Together group coaching community.

This is your chance to be part of the something new to help you get out of isolation and into community – and centering the quirkyalone approach in your own life

Why now? After 20 years, and witnessing soooo many women (and men) share their woes with the dating apps, and the dating pool, and this growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation, I’ve decided it’s time to shake it up and come back with something new.

Who this is for

You might be having thoughts like these:

  • Is it possible I’m holding out for something that doesn’t exist?
  • My marriage is over. My spouse died. Now what?
  • Will I ever be in another long-term romantic relationship?
  • Is this all there is?
  • I’m approaching 40/50/60 single… WTF?

You might be:

  • Single for a long time (longer than expected?),
  • Coming out of a divorce or a long relationship
  • At a midlife crossroads, or a big birthday like 40 or 50 and single, asking “What’s next?”

You want to:

  • Be intentional about and joyful in your life – even when the world is falling apart around us
  • Own who you are apart from roles that have been designated for you as a woman (or man)
  • Prioritize your own happiness while also being open to love
  • Get out of any unhealthy patterns that have you fixed on unavailable people and into ways of thinking and relating that invite healthy love into your life, or just be OK on your own
  • Rewrite the story you are telling yourself about your own life. You are going to learn how to write a vision for your life with a plan—so awesome your coupled friends will be jealous (ha, just kidding!)

Want to be part of what I am quite sure will be a life-changing adventure?

Are you ready for something new?

What you will get out of it

  • A shift in inner narrative around being single, love + relationships, and your life

  • Let go of any single shame, comparison, fear, or “lack” stories that are holding you back from living your life fully (and peacefully)

  • Proven emotional tools that work for quirkyalone types to build self-compassion and manage your triggers (loneliness, envy, doubt) rather than being knocked off-balance by them.

  • A vision of how you want your life to be (in multiple dimensions: romance, work, community, friendships, self) and some concrete steps or practices to move toward your vision.

  • A community of people who understand the “quirkyalone” identity — like-minded folks, a safe space to share and connect without having to explain yourself all the time. People who “get it”.

  • From me, a guide who has coached hundreds of single people over the last 20 years to hold the space, reflect back/support/ and challenge you, and share my knowledge and experience since 2000.

  • A laboratory to practice being vulnerable and real with others who get it, as a way of creating more belonging, intimacy, and community in your life.

Bonus!

The first ten people who sign up will get:

A signed copy of Quirkyalone

You will get a copy of the printed book and I will sign it for you, with a note and a wish for you. My wishes have been known to bear fruit.

What’s it like to be in one of my programs?

Here’s what past participants in my programs have said:

“With Sasha’s easy-going, enthusiastic and supportive nature, I gained so much awareness of myself. As a result of working with Sasha in her group programs Get Quirky and then the Tango Adventure, my confidence in myself was sky-high: I changed careers, restarted dating in an open/honest way and I joined a local tango community. I owe much of my new outlook on life and ways of interacting with others to Sasha. I have peace, satisfaction and a true view of my worth. If you are stuck or just can’t get rid of a nagging feeling that your life is moving by without you, Sasha can help like no others.”–Carissa Giblin, Florida

“I used to feel terrible waking up as a single person every morning, now I no longer feel that way. Sasha’s approach is practical, empathetic and pushes you to not only realize what you want but also opens your mind to new concepts and paths. I found that the coaching positively impacted all areas of my life – relationships, professional and with myself. We focused on being single but this also led to more confidence, and with that a raise. Overall my experience with Sasha was extremely rewarding and I would recommend her coaching programs to anyone who is considering.”–Amy, Connecticut

“Through the Year of Turned-On Living with Sasha, I learned that what I considered being ‘nice’ was sometimes people-pleasing behavior.  After our group coaching, if I’m struggling with a decision, I have used the pussybreathing practice to determine if my body is a yes or a no to something.

Learning the skills of anti-people-pleasing had a lot to do with making a sabbatical happen this year. Previously, I would have thought, Oh, it’s a big inconvenience for people at work for me to be out three months. Now I’m like, It’s OK. They’ll deal with it.”–Davina Bhandari, Toronto

“They Year of Turned-On Living really helped me peel back my defenses for more sharing, and to have more meaningful experiences. I have been guarded in the past. The feeling of community that was built in helped me to open up, and now open myself to other new experiences.

I am a solo woman, and I got the feeling, I’m not the only one. All the validation that we received helped me so much. There was a group out there. I might not see them every day. But I just was just a sense of, the ladies are out there. I’m not alone.”–Shana, North Carolina

About your new coach

Hi! I’m Sasha

That photo is me by the dressing room for my appearance on Dr. Phil. I was on the show in 2023 as the guest expert on the growing trend of self-marriage.

I’m Sasha Cagen, author of Quirkyalone: A Manifesto for Uncompromising Romantics.  For over 20 years, I’ve helped people embrace their independence, build self-love and deepen self-trust, and create relationships that truly nourish them. My work with Quirkyalone and self-marriage has been featured in Vogue, CNN, NPR, and more.

Here’s what I bring:

No gurus here — I have a lot of experience, and wisdom. But this is a no-guru zone. I respect the individual. You’ll find your own answers.

Structured teachings + accountability —  practical tools you’ll use for years to keep yourself on track for quirkyalone/together fulfillment through the Quirkyalone Way

Somatic approach — my background as a dancer helped me to create “pussywalking” and “pussybreathing” which you may get a taste of in this program. No matter what we work with body, mind, and soul.

Global movement — quirkyalone has always been worldwide, and you’ll be part of it. Quirkyalone is for all genders, sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, and kinds of people.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. I love to hear from people.
