I coined the word “quirkyalone” in a published in my own magazine To-Do List and then Utne. It means: “a person who enjoys being single (or spending time alone) and so prefers to wait for the right person to come along rather than dating indiscriminately.” The book grew out of the popular demand for more writing when I first published the essay. Publisher’s Weekly calls the book: “Fun, inspirational and provocative.” Quirkyalone is not only for single people. It’s a bible for all those who reject archaic notions of relationships.
